Green Pastures Community Hub
An exciting initiative at 20 Norwich Street, Dereham sees Dereham Baptist Church, Green Pastures Christian Bookshop and Love Dereham (DBC's community-based charity) partner to be a Christian presence serving the local and wider community.
On 28th May 2019 Green Pastures Bookshop began operating from the street-facing retail area which used to be Adcocks (formerly Bennetts) electrical store. The rear of the shop gives open access to another comfortably furnished space which can be partitioned off when the shop is shut to provide a separate meeting place for a range of activities. During shop opening hours it is used by DBC for Listen Up and by Love Dereham for Community-based activities – including the new base for the Community Fridge.
The Community Fridge is OPEN Monday to Friday from 10am - 1pm. While there are no mandated COVID-19 requirements, we want the Fridge to be safe for vulnerable people. We therefore ask you to come in, one person at a time, by the back door. Please be considerate towards others when queuing and when in the Hub.
Across the passageway behind the shop, the Hub includes two other rooms. There is an upper office area used for administration by Love Dereham and the Christians Against Poverty (CAP) centre. Lastly, at street level, there is a small unit which is used as a quiet space by DBC.
